Miccosukee Volunteer Fire Rescue is proud to partner with schools, teachers, and parents to keep our kids safe and prepared. We offer free fire safety presentations, classroom visits, interactive demos, and resources tailored for students of all ages—from preschool through high school. Our goal is to teach life-saving skills in a fun, memorable way while building trust between students and their local firefighters.
Our volunteer firefighters love bringing real equipment, stories from the field, and hands-on activities into the classroom or schoolyard. Whether it’s practicing Stop, Drop & Roll, learning how to crawl low under smoke, touring a fire truck, or earning a junior firefighter badge, every session is designed to make safety feel exciting rather than scary. By meeting firefighters face-to-face, children learn that help is just a call away—and that the people who respond are friendly neighbors who care about them and their community.
Engaging, age-appropriate talks covering Stop, Drop & Roll, crawl low under smoke, home escape plans, and calling 9-1-1. We use props, videos, and hands-on activities to keep students interested.
Bring the fire truck to your school for a safe, supervised tour. Kids can explore the cab, see equipment, hear a short siren demo (at low volume), and ask questions.
For elementary students: Earn a junior firefighter badge by learning key safety rules. We can run a short "academy" session with certificates and photos.
Special programs during National Fire Prevention Week: coloring contests, poster making, escape plan challenges, and more.
We’re happy to tailor presentations to your needs—e.g., bus safety, stranger danger, home alone tips, or holiday fire safety reminders.
